SALTA
Uranium in Salta
The Salta Province is located in the NW of Argentina. Our exploration permits are situated 150km SW of Salta’s capital, within Salta’s uranium basin. The operations take place at around 3,000m altitude.
The region can be easily accessed by national road #58, and there are good working conditions during most of the year.
Our detected anomalies follow a similar geologic model and mineral association (U, Cu, V) to the one identified at Don Otto Mine
The Salta Basin, covering approx. 150,000 km2, is one of Argentina's principal uranium regions. It is known world-wide for its high oil, gas and uranium content and has existing uranium mines. CNEA estimates that it has the potential to host more than 29,000 tonnes of uranium (in addition to the historical production).
CNEA’s existing uranium mine "Don Otto" (0,1%-0,2% U grade) was in production from 1964 to 1982. A total of 479,000 Tn. were extracted during this period. It is a sandstone hosted uranium deposit, where the mineralized level is in the Cretaceous Yacoraite Formation of the Salta Group.
According to information provided by CNEA the zone should be considered an uranium mining district given that there are minor projects such as Los Berthos and Emmy mines.

UrAmerica in Salta
UrAmerica owns 22 exploration permits in the Salta Basin.
-
9 original permits, totalling 61.973Ha in La Viña and Tonco Amblayo zones
-
13 recently aqcuired permits (Ex Globe Uranium), totalling 90.000Ha in the Tonco-Amblayo and Cerro Tin Tin zones
In all the licensed areas, UrAmerica detected U anomalies during Phase I and II.a Exploration Program.
Two of the permits in Amblayo and all 6 permits in Cerro Tin Tin showed high uranium potential, confirmed during UrAmerica’s Phase II.b Exploration Program.
All permits have the environmental licenses approved by the provincial authority and the areas are ready to be drilled.

A closer look at Cerro Tin Tin & Las Casitas

In the Las Casitas zone, the mineralized level is 1,5 m thick, surrounding Pirgua and Santa Barbara Subgroups
The picture below was taken in a trench on one of UrAmerica's recently acquired permits.
The whole Yacoraite Formation can be seen, as well as the most mineralized level, being grey and yellow sandstones with uranium minerals.

The image below shows the highest readings measured in the area.

A closer look at Isonza

In the picture below, we can see the stratigraphic sequence, with uranium and cooper mineralized levels.
The smaller image shows where a channel sample was taken and a radiospectometer, which is used to detect uranium anomalies in the field
